(1) Torque of locknut with lubricant on the threads … 1500 ± 80 N·m (1100 ± 60 lb ft)
Width across flats … 64.4 mm (2.54 inch)
(2) Before installing the seal assembly, fill the clearances with grease in order to remove the air.
(3) Diameter of new rod assembly … 54.93 ± 0.03 mm (2.163 ± 0.001 inch)
(4) Bore of new cylinder assembly … 80.08 ± 0.03 mm (3.153 ± 0.001 inch)
(5) Cylinder head
- Bore of new cylinder head … 55.63 ± 0.03 mm (2.190 ± 0.001 inch)
- Torque for cylinder head … 340 ± 34 N·m (250 ± 25 lb ft)
Note: Tighten cylinder head (5) prior to drilling the hole for the backup ring (6) .
Drill a 4.5 mm (0.177 inch) hole to the depth of dimension (B). Backup ring (6) fits in the hole. Dimension (B) … 16.5 ± 0.5 mm (0.65 ± 0.02 inch)
(6) Apply 4C-4032 Bearing Mount Compound in the hole for the backup ring.
(7) Lubricate the sealing lip slightly with the lubricant that is being sealed before installation.
(8) Apply 7M-7456 Bearing Mount Compound to the wiper seal groove before installing the seal.
