308C CR Excavator Hydraulic System – Swivel – Disassemble

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the swivel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, “Swivel – Remove”.
  1. Thoroughly clean the outside of the swivel prior to disassembly.

  1. Remove four bolts (1) and cover (2) from housing (5). Remove O-ring seal (3) from the housing.
    NOTICE

    The rotor and housing of the rotary joint can be damaged when the parts are separated from each other. During removal of the rotor from the housing, be sure the press used to separate the components is axially aligned with the rotor.


  1. Remove snap ring (8) and spacer (4) from rotor (10). Use a press to remove rotor (10) from housing (5) .
  1. Remove nine seals (9) from housing (5) .
  1. Remove O-ring seal (7) from housing (5) .

  1. Remove dust seal (6) from housing (5) .
