The information from the ECM is displayed on the monitor. The following service programs and functions are available:

  • The ECM informs the monitor about the condition of the machine. Some examples are listed: hydraulic oil temperature, engine coolant temperature and fuel level.

  • The ECM informs the monitor about any existing and/or past failures of the electronic control system.

  • Various settings of the ECM are performed.

  • Adjustment and testing of the electronic control system are performed.

Entering The Service Mode

The keys of the keypad are used to enter the service mode. The keys are used to change the modes. Next, the appropriate key is pressed until the desired mode is displayed on the message center.

  1. Illustration 3 is the default screen for the monitor. This screen appears when the monitor is initially turned ON.

  1. After the menu key is pressed, the above screen will be displayed. Press DOWN key (10) until “SERVICE OPTIONS” is highlighted.

  1. After “SERVICE OPTIONS” is highlighted, press OK key (14) .

  1. After OK key (14) is pressed, the above screen will be displayed. The keys for direction are used to input the password. Different passwords allow access to menus in the operator monitor. For more information on the passwords, see Systems Operation, “Monitor Overview” for the Tool Control System. The password that allows access to all menus that are used for service is “FFF2”. Press LEFT key (8) or RIGHT key (9) in order to change the position of the flashing character. Press UP key (7) or DOWN key (10) in order to change the value of the flashing character.

  1. After the password is entered, press OK key (14) .

  1. When the correct password has been entered, illustration 9 is displayed. This indicates that service mode has been entered.

Exiting The Service Mode

Two methods are capable of terminating the service mode. The first method is turning the key start switch to the OFF position. The service mode will be terminated 10 seconds after the start switch is turned to the OFF position. If you do not want to turn off the machine, use the procedure that appears below:

  1. Highlight “SERVICE” in the first line of the display.

  1. LEFT key (8) and RIGHT key (9) are used to scroll through the display. The display should show “EXIT” in the first line. Press OK key (14) .

  1. The above screen should be displayed. Press CANCEL key (11) .

  1. The service mode will be terminated and the display will return to the above display after CANCEL key (11) is pressed.
