Idle Parameters
Warm Up Mode Idle Speed
OEM
Description:
The Warm Up Mode Idle Speed parameter determines
engine speed while the engine is in the warm up mode.
The Warm Up Mode Idle Speed parameter will be
activated when the sum of coolant temperature and
intake manifold air temperature is less than 86° F (30° C).
While the engine is in the warm up mode, the engine will
return to low idle if either the service brake or the clutch
pedal is depressed, an automatic transmission is put in
gear, or the ECM detects vehicle speed. After returning
to low idle, the engine can then return to Warm Up Mode
Idle Speed if the sum of coolant temperature and intake
manifold temperature 86° F (30° C) as mentioned above.
Note:
Heavy duty warm up speed is non-programmable and is
fi xed at 1000 rpm.
