Defining a Spare Input

Purpose
The Define Spare Input function allows you to define descriptions for
the Electronic Modular Control Panel II (EMCP II). The description
defined displays in the Alarms function when a spare input alarm is
active. Spare Input descriptions can be defined for each EMCP II
control. However, the User Defined Description is in the Cat CCM
PC program and not in an individual EMCP II.
The “Define Spare Inputs…” pushbutton is enabled when the current
ECM is an EMCP II.
Instructions
Perform the following steps to define a description for spare inputs:
Step 1 Press the “Define Spare Inputs…” pushbutton on the
Alarms screen. The Define Spare Inputs dialog box
displays.
Step 2 Enter (up to 50 characters) a description for the Spare
Input in the User Defined Description text box.
Note: You can edit the descriptions in the Define Spare Input dialog
box using the ↑ and ↓ keys.
Step 3 Press “OK” to save the defined descriptions. Press
“Cancel” if you do not want to define a description.
