Stopping the Machine
NOTICE
Park on a level surface. If it is necessary to park on a
grade,
block the tracks securely.
Do not engage the parking brake while the machine
is moving unless an emergency exists.

1. Apply service brake pedal (3) in order to stop the
machine.
2. Move transmission control (2) to NEUTRAL.
3. Engage parking brake (1).
4. Lower the bulldozer blade and lower all of the
attach
ments to the ground. Apply slight
downward pressure.
Stopping the Engine
NOTICE
Stopping the engine immediately after it has been
work
ing under load can result in overheating and
accelerated wear of engine components.
Refer to the following proce
dure to
allow the engine
to cool and to prevent excessive temperatures in the
turbocharger housing, which could cause oil coking
problems.
1. While the machine is stopped, run the engine for
5 minutes at low idle.

2. Turn the start switch key to the OFF position.
Remove the start switch key.
Delayed Engine Shut Down

This message display alerts the operator that an
engine cooldown is active. The engine key start
switch is in the OFF position. After the delayed
engine shutdown has been completed, the engine
will shut down.
