Machine Operation
NOTICE
When winding t
he winch cable on the drum, never at-
tempt to maintain tension by allowing the winch ca-
ble to slip through the hands. Always use hand-over-
hand techniqu
e, being very carefull to keep hands and
clothing away from the winch drum and rollers.
3. Press switc
h (6) one time into the FREESPOOL
position. Pull out the cable and attach the cable
to the load.
Note: Never operate the winch when there is less
than five wraps of the winch cable around the load
drum. Use r
ed paint in order to paint the last five
complete wraps of the winch cable for a visual
warning.
Note: Make sure that there is enough clearance
between the object and the machine so that the
machine c
an turn.
Note: Make sure that the ground is stable before
winchin
g in a load.
4. To tighten the main cable, make sure that the
drum is n
ot rotating. Press switch (6) one time
in order to turn off the FREESPOOL mode. This
allows REEL IN position (5A) to operate.
Note: Avoid sudden shock of a load or jerking of a
load. This type of operation may cause heavy loads
in exce
ss of the rated capacity, which may result in
failure of the cable or the winch.

too close to the machine.
When reeling in the cable, make sure that all
persons are c lear from rolling objects or cable
whiplash.
1. Move the lever to REEL OUT position (5C). Reel
out the winch cable in order to release tension.
2. Press switch (6) one time away from the operator
into the FREESPOOL position. With switch (6) in
the FREESPOOL position, pull out enough cable
in order to unfasten the cables or the chokers.
3. Move the lever to REEL IN position (5A). Slowly
reel in the cable until the cable is completely
wound.

10 hours of operation, perform the checks and tests.
The checks and tests are in the Maintenance Interval
Schedule.

Test the backup alarm.

Test the brakes.
•
Check the i
ndicators and gauges.

Inspect the cab filter (fresh air).
•
Clean the cab filter (fresh air) or replace the cab
filter (fresh air).

Check the cooling system level.
•
Check the
engine oil level.
•
Drain the water separator at the fuel filter.
•
Drain the water and sediment from the fuel tank.
•
Check th
e hydraulic system oil level.
•
Inspect the seat belt.
•
Check the transmission oil level.
•
Perfo
rm the walk around inspection.
